Applications

The YG1 86588TN finishing end mill combines a 7/16″ diameter with a 1″ length of cut to deliver rigidity and precision in a compact tool ideal for finishing low carbon steels. Its 5-flute arrangement with a 45° helix angle, along with a TiN coating, enhances chip evacuation and wear resistance while promoting smooth cutting action and dimensional accuracy. This center cutting tool supports plunge cutting, expanding its versatility. The absence of a corner radius means edge chipping prevention depends on proper feed rates and cutting parameters. It is not suggested for use with heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA ISO S) and not suited for heavy roughing or interrupted cuts in hard materials.
