Applications

Designed for machining stainless steel and heat-resistant superalloys, the YG1 85558TH features a 1/8″ diameter with a 1/4″ length of cut, creating a compact 2.0x length-to-diameter ratio that boosts rigidity and precision in confined or shallow finishing tasks. This configuration ensures fine control for operations demanding high surface finish quality. Equipped with a 45° helix angle, five flutes, and a Hardslick coating, this solid carbide finishing end mill promotes smooth chip evacuation while lowering cutting forces, thereby enhancing both surface finish and tool longevity. Its center-cutting design enables plunge cutting, increasing versatility in complex milling applications. Due to coating unsuitability, this tool should not be used on steel (ISO P) or non-ferrous materials, as premature wear may result. Optimized for finishing applications requiring a high flute count and helix angle, it excels in surface finish and tool stability but is unsuitable for roughing or heavy stock removal.
