Designed for precise and stable milling, the YG1 33558TC features a 1/8″ diameter with a 1/4″ length of cut and 4 flutes, finished in TiCN solid carbide. Its 2.0x length-to-diameter ratio ensures excellent rigidity for shallow slotting and finishing within confined areas. Combining a 30° helix angle with the TiCN coating and 4-flute geometry, this end mill balances chip evacuation with surface finish, minimizing tool wear during general milling of free-machining steels. Optimized for free-machining steel, this tool employs a general 4-flute design and TiCN coating that maximize speed and cost-effectiveness without compromising finish quality. The lack of a corner radius reduces edge chipping by relying on the stable flute design rather than radius protection. Users should avoid applying this end mill to heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA ISO S) due to the TiCN coating’s unsuitability and rapid degradation. It is also not recommended for heavy roughing or deep slotting in hard materials that demand longer reach or specialized coatings.
