Applications

Engineered for precision finishing in cast iron, the YG1 07570TF solid carbide finishing end mill features a 7/32″ diameter and 5/8″ length of cut. Its 4-flute design combined with a 30° helix angle and TiAlN Futura coating provides enhanced edge stability and abrasion resistance, reducing wear associated with the short-chipping characteristics of cast iron.
This tool supports smooth chip evacuation and consistent surface finishes, adhering to best practices for gray cast iron roughing and finishing where abrasion resistance and edge life are essential. The lack of a corner radius demands careful handling to prevent chipping during interrupted cuts, while the 5/8″ length balances reach and stiffness, minimizing deflection in detailed milling.
Usage on non-ferrous materials is not advised due to coating unsuitability. Although capable of machining steel, stainless steel, and HRSA, its primary advantage lies in cast iron applications where its coating and geometry excel.
