Applications

The YG1 07554TN solid carbide finishing end mill measures 1/16″ in diameter with a 3/16″ length of cut, delivering rigidity and precision for small diameter milling. Its 3/16″ length of cut maintains stiffness and reduces deflection when machining free-machining steels and related materials. Featuring a 30° helix angle, four flutes, and a TiN coating, this tool balances chip evacuation with cutting edge strength to facilitate smooth finishing and prolong tool life in general milling.
Aligned with recommended combinations for free-machining steel, the tool’s 4-flute geometry and TiN coating make it ideal for budget-conscious operations needing speed and quality surface finishes. With no corner radius, prevention of edge chipping depends on geometry and coating, making it better suited to continuous cuts rather than interrupted or roughing uses.
This end mill is not recommended for heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA ISO S) because the TiN coating is not well suited and would degrade rapidly. It is also less effective for heavy slotting or machining abrasive materials where a corner radius or specialized coating would be necessary.
