Its thin web will penetrate the work hardening stainless fast enough to continually cut beneath the chip which is hardening from deformation. The heavy-duty core guarantees increased strength and reduced breakage. The unique spiral flute design improves chip ejection and coolant flow to the point. 135° self-centering split point prevents “walking” and provides quick penetration. All drill bits offered in this series are surface treated and appear to have a bronze coating. It helps in significantly reducing friction and thereby, offers higher feed rates. This makes it ideal for workpiece material made of Steel, Non-Ferrous, Cast Iron. The lower helix angle of 30° can wrap slowly and is used in drilling hard materials including brass. Type 280-UB Silver & Deming drills from VIKING are offered in over 40 different sizes of 1-1/2 inches and under.
