Offering a 5/8″ diameter and a 3/4″ length of cut, the YG1 85595TC solid carbide finishing end mill features five flutes and a TiCN coating designed for rigidity and accuracy in steel finishing operations. Its stub length supports stable finishing passes, ensuring excellent surface quality and dimensional control in tight tolerance machining. The 45° helix angle combined with the TiCN coating and increased flute count boosts chip evacuation and reduces vibration during light radial stock removal. This tool is ideal for finishing low carbon steels like 1018 and A36, aligning with recommended best practices for superior surface finish. The TiCN coating enhances wear resistance and smooth cutting on steel and compatible materials. Its single end, center cutting design offers versatility including plunge cutting. Avoid use on heat resistant superalloys (HRSA ISO S) because the coating is not a good match. This end mill is not suited for heavy roughing or interrupted cuts where corner radius tools are preferred to prevent chipping, making it best reserved for finishing steel and select stainless and non-ferrous materials.
