Applications

This CNMG turning insert supports cutting speeds from 98 to 574 sfm, feeds between 0.009 and 0.024 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.197 in. It excels in general cutting applications with a focus on medium to rough turning and facing. The insert is designed for use on ISO P30-P40 steels primarily, with secondary capability in M20-M30 stainless steels, K20-K25 cast irons, and S15-S25 HRSA/titanium alloys. Its negative rake chipbreaker and robust edge strength make it well suited for interrupted cuts and heavy roughing operations, but it is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling. The insert’s geometry and application range favor rigid setups and heavier cuts rather than thin-wall or low-rigidity workpieces.
