Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 525 to 984 sfm, feeds ranging between 0.009 and 0.024 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.197 in. These parameters enable robust general cutting performance in medium to rough machining scenarios. The 3/64″ nose radius balances edge strength with moderate feed capability for semi-finishing to medium machining. Designed primarily for ISO P20-P25 steel groups, this negative rake CNMG insert excels in general cutting applications including rough turning and facing. Its negative rake and chipbreaker geometry make it highly suitable for interrupted cuts and heavier depths of cut, but it is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling operations.
