The YG1 07573TH finishing end mill, sized 1/4″ diameter with a 3/4″ length of cut, offers a 3.0x length-to-diameter ratio that provides rigidity and precision for finishing cast iron components. Its 30° helix angle and 4-flute design optimize chip evacuation and improve surface finish, especially in interrupted cuts, while minimizing tool deflection.
Coated with Hardslick, this tool resists built-up edge and abrasion, extending life in abrasive cast iron and stainless steel materials. The absence of a corner radius concentrates cutting forces on the sharp edge, enhancing dimensional accuracy but requiring careful handling to avoid chipping.
Avoid use on steel (ISO P) or non-ferrous materials due to unsuitability of the Hardslick coating. This end mill is well-suited for finishing applications in cast iron and stainless steel but not for general milling of free-machining steels or aluminum alloys.
