Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds up to 400 m/min, feed rates from 0.15 to 0.35 mm/rev, and depths of cut up to 4.0 mm. It is designed for medium to rough turning and facing operations, including heavy boring with interrupted cuts in rigid setups. The 3/64″ nose radius suits semi-finishing to medium machining tasks with good edge strength. It is optimized for ISO P (steel and alloy steel) as the primary material group and ISO K (cast iron) as secondary. The negative rake chipbreaker and 80° diamond shape provide excellent performance in interrupted cuts and roughing but are not suited for precision finishing or profiling. This insert is not recommended for thin-wall or low-rigidity setups or non-ferrous materials.
