Applications

The YG1 07572TF is a 15/64″ diameter, 3/4″ length of cut solid carbide finishing end mill with four flutes and a 30° helix angle, tailored for finishing cast iron. Its balanced length-to-diameter ratio of about 3.2 ensures rigidity and precision. Featuring a TiAlN Futura coating, the tool excels in abrasion resistance and chip evacuation, especially in abrasive, short-chipping materials like gray cast iron, reducing edge wear and maintaining accuracy.
Beyond cast iron, this end mill is also suitable for secondary operations in steel, stainless steel, and heat-resistant superalloys due to its geometry and coating promoting general milling. The lack of a corner radius demands careful use to prevent chipping in interrupted cuts but performs well in continuous finishing passes.
Avoid applying this tool on non-ferrous materials, as its TiAlN Futura coating is not well suited and degrades quickly. It aligns well with recommended combinations for cast iron roughing and free-machining steel general milling, offering versatility within its intended material scope.
