The Premium series Chamfer Spotting Tool is made from Solid Carbide and available uncoated or Titanium coatings. The tool sports a two/four-flute design and a 60°/90° included angle. The pointed end of the tool creates an annular chamfer. The higher angle aids in faster and more aggressive cuts. This makes it a good choice for finishing applications. Solid carbide makes the tool more wear-resistant at high speeds. The tool is best suited on most workpieces materials including all types of Steel, Non-Ferrous, Cast Iron, Plastics, and composites. This spot drill tool has tight tolerance point geometry with cutting diameter tolerances ranging -0.0001 / -0.0004″. They are designed not to drill deeper holes than the depth of the point angle. The titanium-coated variants of the tool provide for increased tool finish and life. It reduces the need for lubricants based on the application. The tool material made up of solid carbide (industrial steel) is harder than high-speed or cobalt steel and makes the tool more wear-resistant at high speeds. The round shank accommodates a variety of holders. The tool is available in 5 different sizes of 1/8″, 3/16″, 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″.
