The YG1 55598TE solid carbide finishing end mill features a 3/4″ diameter and 3″ length of cut, providing a robust 4.0x length-to-diameter ratio that combines rigidity and reach ideal for precise finishing in medium-length slots and pockets. This size balances strength with accessibility, reducing tool deflection during detailed work. With a 30° helix angle, 4-flute design, and TiAlN Extreme coating, it manages chip evacuation effectively while maintaining edge strength. The coating resists heat and wear, supporting high-speed finishing in steel and cast iron, while the geometry reduces edge chipping and preserves surface finish quality. This end mill should not be used on non-ferrous materials, as the TiAlN Extreme coating degrades quickly in such applications. It also is unsuitable for plastics or soft non-ferrous metals. It is well-matched for general milling and finishing of free-machining steel (ISO P materials).
