Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 82 to 525 sfm, feeds from 0.002 to 0.012 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.197 in. It is designed for interrupted cutting and roughing operations, handling medium to heavy cuts effectively. The small 1/64″ nose radius allows for finishing to light semi-finishing with recommended limits of ap0.059 in and fn0.006 in/rev for best edge life. It is suitable primarily for ISO P35-P45 steels and secondarily for M30-M40 stainless steels, K30-K35 cast irons, and S25-S35 HRSA/Titanium alloys. The negative rake chipbreaker and robust 80° diamond shape provide excellent edge strength and stability for interrupted cuts, but it is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling.
