Applications

Cutting speeds range from 295 to 492 sfm, feeds from 0.003 to 0.009 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.079 in. These parameters support light semi-finishing to finishing operations with a small 0.008″ nose radius. The insert is designed for heavy interrupted cutting and roughing applications. This insert is optimized for stainless steel within the M25-M35 ISO material range. Its positive rake geometry and 80° diamond shape provide good strength and contouring ability. However, it is best suited for heavy interrupted cuts rather than fine finishing or continuous cuts, making it ideal for demanding roughing in stainless materials.
