The Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Disc can be then easily used interchangeably for a range of tasks including blending, deburring, and finishing. These non-woven discs from 3M come in four different diameter sizes ranging from 1 inch to 3 inches. While the disc construction conforms well to preserve irregular or contoured surfaces, the Roloc backing supports the disc for aggressive cutting. Roloc disc pads (that are sold separately) form the base on which these 3M Roloc quick change discs can be conveniently attached for jobs in multi-step finishing processes. The 3M Roloc Quick Change Attachment System allows for a secure attachment and swapping in seconds even for heavy-duty applications. 3M offers two choices of abrasive material in the manufacturing of the Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Discs. Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral that is commonly used for low-pressure applications such as finishing, thereby preferred for a smooth finish. Aluminum oxide, on the other hand, is a hard, coarse mineral that provides a high cut rate and long life.
